Legal Harborside is probably one of my favorite seafood restaurants in Boston. Located in the Seaport area, right on the water, this restaurant offers three different floors, with three different menus, ranging in price and options.
When we first got there we walked into the first floor and it was very loud and crowded. The menu for that floor is the most basic and essentially the cheapest in price. We went ahead and chose to try out the second floor menu which was reasonably priced and more elegant.
When we got to the second floor, there was a completely different theme. It was much more relaxed and quiet. The theme was modern and with the ceiling high windows, on a sunny day there is a gorgeous view of the water. Our table happened to be right by the window, so it was perfect. The only complaint I have is that the bar area on the floor gets a little crowded at time and being in the middle of the room it is a bit loud and can be distracting.
The service, however, was impeccable and very professional. The waiters were very attentive and brought out the courses at the perfect times. And constantly refilled our glasses when they were empty. Once a plate was empty it was immediately taken away and we never had to remind them of anything. Even the manager came over to ask how everything was and to clean the table. Compared to many of the other restaurants I have been to this restaurant offered some of the best service I have seen.
They have a wonderful menu with an array of seafood dishes including caviar and even some meats for those who don’t eat fish. I have to admit that the lobster chowder was my favorite and was made just right. We also ordered two different fish dishes, one was the sautéed cod with mussels, finnan haddie brandade, braised cabbage and the other was the grilled cobia with pomegranate bbq sauce, mee krob noodles, toasted peanuts, and baby bok choy. Everything was perfect but the cod was a little too salty. However, mixed with all the other ingredients it was not bad, but not the best. For that I would give 4 stars out of 5. But for service i would give it 5 stars.
Definitely going there again. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Depending on how much you are willing to spend will determine which floor and which menu you will try.

Great review – and I’m thrilled you focused on written words rather than pictures especially since you write well. I’m so glad that Boston has a proper seafood restaurant where we can bring visitors and not be ashamed. Places like Union Oyster and No Name are an embarrassment.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. You should definitely try this place out. I don’t think youll be disappointed
